Welz solid colour vases, such as this one, can only be identified with certainty if you can find the exact same shape in an already identified Welz décor. In this case the self same shape comes in a Welz pink and green spatter, an example of which I've already posted here. Unfortunately the spatter version has not yet been unpacked after a move so I'm unable to photograph them together.

For many years just about every green pedestal or similar shaped piece of glass was identified as either Kralik or Stolzle. As with many of the early Welz attributions, declaring that some of these were Welz production was seen as "glass heresy".

      Funny how things change. :-)

I'm not sure 'funny' is the right word, but things have changed. I doubt the green vase could have been identified ten years ago as you didn't have sufficient known décors/shapes. Now all sorts of stuff that isn't Welz is being sold as Welz. Maybe 'funny' is the right word after all lol

Thank you, vetraio, I think this is my first Welz with iridescence.

That is the natural progression in the marketplace sadly..... A new name comes to the surface, and all of a sudden there is a new name to call things to sell them..... NOt the first time we have seen... Won't be the last.....
