In my first post on Collectors weekly I said the Romadka Brothers Trunk I posted a few weeks ago was the first antique I’ve ever collected but I’m realizing that’s not true. I received these 2 enameled Hood Tire signs from my grandfathers estate. The small red one is 8” by 18” and the big blue one is about 78” by 17.5”.
I don’t know much about them, I’m fairly sure they are both originals (I do know there are a lot of fakes out there). I would love it if anyone could tell me more about them. How old they are, any history about hood tires etc.
Sorry the images are sideways — I ha e no idea why they uploaded that way!
Thanks in advance!
I'm not sure on the age of these but I do know they make repro's of the smaller one, it is suspicious that the porcelain is chipped off where a date might have been across from the "made in usa" but need more research.
Here,
This might help you.

Hmm, so deliberate concealment of a reproduction, or just a random chance. Thanks for the info.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the big one?
I know my grandfather believed both to be the real thing.
Thanks for the help and comments so far
