In the 1960's & 1970's, Smith & Wesson manufactured a model of handcuffs (Model 95) exclusively for the military.
These handcuffs were only marked on the front of the right-hand cuff with the S&W Logo. No other stampings i.e. S&W address or serial numbers are on these cuffs.
They did not come in the regular S&W blue handcuff box, but in a plain brown box, with military Defense Supply Agency identification numbers.
These were manufactured during the Vietnam War Era. The 3 boxes I have are Nov. 1963 (end label, top), March 1970 (printed top of box, left) & August 1972 (printed top of box, right).

The boxes are the only way you can date them.
The nickel one shown here came new in the box that is dated 3/70 (March 1970).
The box dated 8/72 (August 1972) has a blued pair new in the box.
The box with the end label dated 11/63 (November 1963), I believe, is a prototype pair that was sent to the Defense Clothing & Textile Supply Center, an agency under the Defense Supply Agency, for military approval. I acquired them from a Smith & Wesson executive who found them in the basement of the factory.
The first pair shown here in the US marked pouch, came in the pouch, and there is no way to pin down a date for them.
      Thanks for the appreciation:

Interesting post. I was in from 67 to 77, served in Vietnam, Europe and the US and never got issued a pair of marked cuffs. The ones I was issued had no markings at all. My civilian cuffs are marked and numbered.
