Hello and thank you for your help.

I am trying to find out if this set is a EMILE PUIFORCAT STERLING SILVER LOUIS XVI BACHELOR TEA COFFEE SET.

Also, if anyone can tell me the year, that would be fabulous.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Kimberly

Not French for sure, and let alone EMILE PUIFORCAT, whose mark was EP with a penknife (un canif) between initials and always accompanied by Minerva head for silver standard.
So, E.P most likely stands for electroplated.Btw.sterling is .925, not .950.

Hello and thank you for your response.

Yes, I did just notice the 950 with the Sterling Silver mark. Now you have me wondering if the set is an error.

Sterling is .925 not 950. So...This set could be worth a lot of money with a stamp error I am guessing. This is similar to coin errors right..?

      Thank you

Unfortunately, has nothing to do with coin errors. Not even sure if solid silver or silver plated.
It can be easily tested, there are electronic testers now.To be sure with acid testing rather deep filing is needed to remove silver plated layer and reach base metal. If silver, it will turn deep red, if base metal of any kind it will remain dull yellow greenish.
