Inherited this clock and have been trying to date it. My independent research indicates it is from the 1930-1949 era due to the label on the back access door reading: "Division of General Time Instrument Co.". A closer look at the 124 movement stamps show "Made In USA"; this movement was made in the USA from 1924-1956; after 1956 they were German made for Seth Thomas. An even closer look reveals the stamps "124E" "4609"--see pics.

I am ready to conclude a manufacture date of September 1946--trying to get a confirmation of my detective work.

The clock is a perfect timekeeper and has full working Westminster chimes.

      Hello eyesdoug,

I would tend to agree with you. Seth Thomas started to phase out movement manufacturing in 1955. I've found cases similar to your clock in a model Seth Thomas called "Legacy" but the model I'm looking at is from circa 1962. If your clock's movement is original to the case, I think your educated guess of September 1946 is likely.

Nice looking clock. Bet it sounds great too.

      Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Bruce99; appreciate your concurrence as the movement and case are all original.
