hi this is another estate collection piece that I am trying to identify, if you have any information I would appreciate your time and thoughts. The only way I know how to describe this piece is to tell you that it feels like it is made of a heavy iron or metal like base with a beautiful rich thick eggplant amethyst purple glaze with embossing. It is definitely an old original piece but I do not see any type of markings or signatures on it. I would love to get feedback from anyone if you have time, many thanks again, aly

hi @vetraio50 ty for your comment sir/ma'am...I think it is chinese but I am not positive I posted it so I could get any help or suggestions that anyone has. It came from an amazing estate collection but unfortunately there was no other information available on it at the time when I purchased it. I don't know how to identify what it is so please feel free to share any thoughts you have. fyi...the top and base are made of a really different feeling material almost like an iron type material if that makes any sense at all, I have several items from this estate that I have no idea how to identify what they are so I appreciate your time very much ;-) aly

the upper rim looks burnished to me. the red color clay would be almost unheard of in China. More likely Mexican, Californian, or Southern European [italian].
