Is this an Empire highboy and if so any idea what year? Or what wood it's made of?

This dresser came into the family via my wife's grandparents, so I know it's old, but I don't know how old or what it's made of. I am thinking maybe Empire, or in that style anyway. Mahogany?

It's a beauty! I don't know what it's called but looks to be tigerwood. That's a very expensive wood if it is. Have you looked inside each drawer for a name plate or sometimes they would burn it in too. Look everywhere on the back, in the bottom of the drawers and underneath the whole piece. Even look inside after removing the drawers. Names could be "hidden" sometimes. This is so unique, love it!

Difficult to try to guess wood veneer material by that single pic esp given its dark stain/color, but it looks more like mahogany grain to me than something more typical like oak? It *is* an attractive piece (1920's ish?) so *please* show more pics!! (you can add up to 3 more to this post)
