What is it? from the picture all I see is a box on a stand, I guess ? most folks on here want to help but you're making it really hard.....................

I'm not entirely sure but I think it is an antique sewing box. The top opens up on either side.

I have one that closely resembles yours. It is a sewing box made by Butler. Mine is Style 784. It also has a tray in it for sewing notions. Mine is loaded with antique needles, thread, etc. Don't know the value though.

The style, etc should be stamped on the bottom.

My wife has a very simular one, inherited from my Aunt..The stamp on the bottom is : FERGUSON.... Pat...1707806...BMCO
      It is an antique.
The lids are mechanically connected so that when you open one the other opens as well. There is a tray in it..

I agree it is a sewing box. I have seen many in my travels. Not particulary rare.

bean, it's very hard to give an exact value but suffice it to say that you're not going to retire with this piece....SORRY !
