When I feel that restoring isn't really exciting me all that much, I'll decide to start from scratch, and see what I can come up with. I've had this full set of GUCCI hardware in a box in my shop for a few years now and using those pieces as the main design element(s) gave me the inspiration to build this one. The drawbolts are really very HEAVY pieces of polished brass and the lock too, reminds me of jewelry. Add all brass binding and then it started looking very European. I love using gray in design so why not here too.
I love, love this!!! You did an amazing job on it, wow!!! I would definitely want to buy this piece but it might be a bit high in price for my blood! I dunno tho, I'd probably do it anyway!!! Gorgeous and ingenious as well!!!

I read that! Just amazing work and what a great idea! Most here restore them back to their original condition and those are always nice but this!!! I love that you thought outside the box!!! haha no pun intended. Ah, ok, yes...pun intended!
