Hi, I would like to have some advice about the possible age of this sewing machine. The serial number/code on the stand of the machine is V465876. Thank you

      thank you :)
I should probably add that in the instructions manual there is a receipt from 25/4/58, but I am not sure if the machine was new at that point or second hand.

      Hello,
      Love these sewing machines...

In our profile picture, my great, great grandfather , Jesse Hobbs from Pennington Gap Virginia, sold these sewing machines after migrating and settling on Crowleys Ridge in NE Arkansas, and is pictured in a horse pulled SINGER buggy with a singer sewing machine in back. This picture was taken around 1898-1905. The wood used for the case originated in East arkansas (Singer Woods), shipped to the northeast, assembled with the sewing machine, then shipped across the country for retail.
