While driving down Interstate 40 on our way back from Las Cruzas NM we happened to notice an old Service Station waaaay off the Freeway Down old US 66 and since it wasn't quite dark yet we got off the road and ran down to beautiful Budville which consists of 2 bars a Church and the old Trading Post. Of course finding the owner of the property was our new challenge. It took us over a year to find and convince the owner to sell us this old Visible GB gas pump that now sits along side the big Route 66 sign we also got from the owner. They both reside in prominant places in the Lakeside Museum in Provo Ut.
But you didn't also get that absolutely fantabulous 'BUDVILLE TRADING COMPANY' (?) neon sign, too?? :-( <lol>
AnythingObscure,
Believe it or not we've been in the process but the difficulty of getting it down and the closest change to lower is is in Gallup besides the paint being terrible on it and the Neon broken, makes it a very expensive challenge. The great story behind the sign and store makes it valuable to us but not to any others. I think?
