One of my favorite Matchbox models as it has all sorts of nifty details. I do have the box for it but I have seem to have misplaced it along with several other boxes.
This model is hard to find with the white plastic ladder, hoses and side pieces. As these come off easily they are easily lost. Luckily there are reproductions available although this is all original. Also the water (or foamite) jet on top swivels. It would be turned sideways to avoid damaging it while in the box or carrying case. In addition the rear section is very well detailed with hoses and other equipment.
A short life for this model of only four years although it was and is quite popular.
Those boxes need to be around here someplace.
Very cool airport rescue truck fort, I can see why this was such a popular matchbox piece it's such an important vehicle

That is the 1:1 version.
I like this. In the early '60s a friend of my father was in the Air Guard took a bunch of us kids to their facilities at Danely Field. We got to sit inside a fire truck like this and my dad's friend operated the controls on the ceiling that controlled the nozzle. He even sprayed a little foam for us! We also got to sit in the cockpit of one their RF-101 Voodoos. Thanks for sharing this, it brings back memories of a fun time. I'd like to have one of these just for memory of that day.
Thank you very much Newfld. I appreciate your continued support.
Thank you very much Toyrebel. Sounds like quite the fun day with both sitting in the crash tender and Voodoo.
