      That would be a French Naval Officer's sword and a very nice one at that!

      I appreciate the response, after researching the French naval swords from your comment I believe it's a 1837model of some sorts. I cant seem to find any scabbards that looks similar but the hilt resembles it.

      By the way, the sword is backwards in the scabbard. Actually, the mounts on the scabbard may be backwards instead. Would have to see the leather tooling on both sides to know for sure.
