My first thought on seeing this was of the Welz décor known as Pink and Purple. However my only two examples of Pink and Purple have an iridescent satin sheen. This does have a golden iridescence but it also has a very high gloss finish I don't associate with Welz. In fact the iridescent gloss is reminiscent of some Kralik millefiore pieces, but I wouldn't associate the colours with Kralik. The pink and purple striation is between two layers of clear glass. I've tried to reduce the glare from the high gloss finish.

So really beyond thinking it's Bohemian I'm at a loss, but you may not be!

Oh, we are at a loss.... there is a big pond of beautiful unidentified pieces. This one is great for its intense color, shape and finish

Being at a loss with others is somehow better!

This kind of marbled decor has always been interesting to me. Although I have tried for a long time to determine the source, the answer has escaped me for years. I used to suspect that it may be Welz, but after years of looking, I have seen the decor a number of times, but never on a shape I could associate with them. Whoever made it, it is a fabulous decor in some of my favorite colors.

It's certainly eye catching and similar to another I have.....also unknown!

This one is so lovely. Does it have blue in it too? - Or is that just a trick of the iridescence? (photos 1 and 2)

I think there must be blue in there somewhere, Wow22, in as much as purple comes from a mix of red and blue. The blue line you see in image two is a purplish blue in real life. I'm ashamed to say the technical aspects of glass hold little interest for me.

On the other hand the iridescence is gold coloured only and with the high gloss I'm wondering if it would be more correct to call it 'flashed' rather than 'iridescent'.

I still have this decor 'loosely' categorised in my own mind as most likely Welz. Yes, it's different to the pink/purple spot decor, but I don't see it is too far a stretch from the marble-like decor in upper right of this recent post. It would be interesting to know the finish on that piece because it conforms to a factory documented shape.

I think the link may be exposed in time..... and I'm happy to wait before a definition attribution can be made. I love this combination of colours and only own a pink/purple spot example. I hope to find one of these.

The surface on the one to which you refer is 'satin flashed'...... not at all like this bowl.

Interesting, thanks. Maybe it just got bumped from my 'loose' categorisation! .....Whoever made it, it's gorgeous.

      But may be not.....
