Fancy...fanciful...fantastic!
A prime specimen of Victorian eccentricity, this palm tree vase by John Walsh Walsh of Birmingham is the latest addition to my vitreous garden.
Made from three layers of cased glass - clear over light blue, with an opaline interior, it measures 16 cm tall, around 5 cm across the top rim, & around 8.5 cm across the base, & features 6 clear applied downward curving fronds at the tree's "canopy", & a circlet of upwards pointing leaves at the base of the "trunk". Snapped pontil mark visible on the slightly concave base.
Rustic surface "pull - outs" decorate the length of the trunk.

Cool piece. The light blue is unusual... Love it!
I'd like a date with this palm...
Thanks so much, welzebub! It's a particularly attractive shade of blue, isn't it!
