Willcox & Gibbs Treadle Base Transformation

This is a cast iron base from a Willcox & Gibbs treadle sewing machine. I bought the base from a man in Connecticut who bought it from a 100+ year old woman from NYC. She told him that it was from her grandmother's W&G sewing machine. The third picture shows the condition of the metal when I first received the base. I applied an oil, then wiped away the excess. It brought back the near original look of the base. I plan to use this base with an antique table top to create a table for my foyer.
