Off - beat, oddball pieces of art glass never fail to seize my attention.
This intriguing vase is no exception - I've never seen anything like this shape before.
It measures 14.3 cm tall, around 4 cm across the widest part of the semi - circular top rim, & 5 cm across the circular base.
Made from what appears to be three layers of cased glass, it is a pale, muted yellow green (really livens up under UV light) with a bottom up spatter in a light orange. It has a subtle iridescence & smooth satin finish.
The shape is what makes it special - there's something vaguely industrial about it, sort of a cross between a factory's chimney stack & a submarine rising from the depths. Is weird, is good!
It's got to be Bohemian...Rindskopf? Pallme Koenig? Or?

I've seen these before - there's definitely something missing which, when present, makes the shape make more sense - something perched on the little ledge - a bird? an animal? I can't recall exactly what but someone else will!! It's a crazy piece.

I would have seen it here on CW, but I can't find it. Sorry.

      Different shape, same idea

Many thanks, Wow22! I really just thought it was some sort of proto - Art Deco geometrical experimentation...but - that's really interesting. It was sold as Loetz but I didn't take that seriously. As lovely as the figure looks, I think I prefer mine without the extra ornamentation...but that's just me...

Now I have some decor names...I'm thinking Kralik Helios, perhaps? Colour scheme looks similar...

For what it's worth my Kralik 'Helios' isn't UV reactive. It would look good with a lit candle perched on the ledge.

      The plot thickens...many thanks, Bambus1920!

Nice. The same vase (maybe bigger) with a bronze statue of a woman is in Passau Glasmuseum ranked at Poschinger. I have it in my collection too (unfortunately damaged) as Poschinger, but I think it can be Kralik.

Correcting. My vase is not the same but similar. see: http://www.bohemianglass.org/katalog/vaza-kralik-helios-s-kovovou-montazi-2246/detail/

The original link I provided has been deactivated. Try this one for different figure to larksel's:

I lean towards Kralik Helios, but there doesn't seem to be consensus on this one.

And thanks again, Wow22, much appreciated! It certainly is food for thought!

My impression from the images is Poschinger helios, who had a much more subtle yellow glass base and the base was also less vivid, it's great if you can have both types side by side, then you can see the difference, here are my helios finds:
