Firstly, meet my new little girl "Fiona" she's my new avatar photo. My sister and I picked her up this past Sunday from Kalamazoo. A 4 hour drive for us but worth every mile. She is the sweetest 8 month old pup ever and so much like my last dog Mitzi. Not a reincarnation but pretty close.
Now on to my post. We occasionally get people that come into the antique store and drop off items that they just no longer want rather than throw them away. I happen to be working that day and a nice lady named Mary offered me an old radio sight unseen. Two weeks passed and I had forgotten about it until a fellow vendor phoned me it was there. Fast forward to yesterday and here's what I found waiting for me. I thought it was cool looking but I'm not a radio expert or collector. It didn't take long to search and understand what I had. It's a keeper and hopefully restorable. The cabinet and the beautiful glass rods are fine. They are inspired by the columns in the Capitol's dome. Wood needs refinished though. The knobs are incorrect on the front. Two round covers are missing by the push button selectors. The back is missing and the chassis is loose but all the tubes seem to be there along with the cord . I've seen these restored with non invasive LEDs that light up the glass rods and its awesome looking. This is the top of the line 6 tube model so I think having it restored is in it's future. -Mike-

Thanks so much Broochman...Fiona and I are wrapping up our first week together. Have to say she is smart and rides in the car, walks, and knows "sit" just fine already. She's a keeper and so is the radio...lol. -Mike-

I think I lost your address now and need it promptly. The only chance of me finding one of these is pivital to your address and need to get some skills at nicking thinggs. Love this piece !~

So I take it you really like this Phil ?? Seriously thanks for the comment and the "love". Seems as though all it needs for restoration can be found online. I downloaded the schematics yesterday. The proper knobs and such should be as well. Not sure I want to tackle this myself or not. I have the number of a local expert who knew I had an old radio but not this particular one. They are described as being rare and sought after by collectors.
