Sometimes, you can find a sleeper. This was described as a spatter glass vase.
My first Kralik shell/cornucopia. Clear inside, with an outer layer of white frit, applied trails of green, & purple confetti, resting on an applied leaf shaped footed base.
It measures 20.5 cm tall, 6.5 cm across the cut & polished top rim, & 9.5 cm across the base.
The sleeper of my dreams!
Nice piece. Congratulations.
Thank you most kindly, larksel!
So - did all the snails in your garden come racing out to mingle with their pretty new companion?
Beautiful! So glad you found it, IronLace, or we would probably never have seen one!
Wow22 - thankfully not! :-)
We had a snail outbreak a few months back - I think they're out of season at present (going into winter now). But I am more than happy to welcome this vitreous specimen of gastropod...
Many thanks, sklo42!
It was a lucky find - & I've often found it worth my while searching through generic glass descriptions, because interesting things can turn up. For instance, I once found a piece of Peloton glass described simply as a "pink vase".
An unusually and unique example of the shape. Nice score...
Just great!
Many thanks, welzebub!
Thanks also, philmac51!
The base looks like a slime trail..............
Slime never looked so glamorous!
