Here's a great Loetz cachepot for displaying small potted plants or flower arrangements. It has a cool tri-twisted rim with a an unusually detailed rope edge. The shape reminds me of a pinwheel.
The base color is creta and it has silver-blue spots as in a papillon decor. On the top half of the bowl, another layer of silver-pink spots has been added. This shape is also seen with a ruffled edge or a smooth edge.
Jitka Lnenickova's reference shows two unknown decor numbers 1/204 and 1/298 for PN II-787 . The details describe the rim as a "verzwickten rand" or, according to google translate, a tricky edge.
Ca 1900. 6.25" wide x 5" tall.
The rim is terrific! Tricky is a good description, I’d say. :)
Thanks Michelle! Definitely one you don't see everyday.
