I'm having problems finding this Union Metallic Co. (which later merged with Remington Arms) cartridge online. I'm not well versed in guns and ammo, so I hope someone here can guide me. Cartridge and shell are 3-1/8" long and weighs 23 grams total. Diameter at the headstamp is 12 mm. Headstamp reads "UMC 2 06". The shaft is fluted. This cartridge may predate WW II, but I'm not sure. Any help out here?

It's a 30-06 training cartridge so Yankees could be trained without shooting themselves in the foot, etc.. LOL ! Haven't seen one of these in ages.

Thanks, Bussie! I'm definitely one of those whose foot would be in danger. Now I won't try to reload it! <wink>

Yeah, we "Suddeners" tried to teach Yankees how to shoot awhile back. Guess we did too good of a job ! LOL !
