Early British recruitment leaflet from First world war.

Very patriotic leaflet that appeals for people to do their fair share and join the army, largely by making anyone not joining feel guilty and look like an outcast. It also sets out the reasons for war and Britain's case against Germany.

Propaganda like this was one of the main factors that led young men to sign up.

P.S. does anyone know how to stop CW automatically rotating the pictures like this? They were vertical when I uploaded them.

Wonder how many men thought about their decision while knee deep in mud with shells exploding around them ? !!

Did you post these from your PV or a phone. I tends to rotate phone posted photos like that. Sometimes it does that to PC posted photos too. If you make them larger on the horizontal line than the vertical they probably will post properly.
