Here is a 1940s era "Trade Stimulator" made by Groetchen. It takes a penny for a spin, has cigarette packages on the slot machine style reels. If you were to match three identical cigarette brands on the reels the machine would dispense a token at the side in a glass window which you could then show the shop owner, and win a free package of cigarettes. An early "gambling" device, these were designed to get around the no gambling laws, and make shop owners extra income. This unit came without a rear door, and I was fortunate enough to find one online to complete the machine!
