Hello CW collectors. I'm posting this for MsCrystalship, continuing our recent discussion about Trifari and Coro duette brooches. Here are two Trifari Clipmates. Trifari's version of the duette brooch. Both examples have the distinctive Tifari clip bar mechanism. Unlike Coro who made a unique frame holder for each design. So if you have Coro turtle duette you have to have the right holder to make them a brooch. You can't use the angelfish frame on the turtles. Trifari in standardizing this part was able to simplify manufacture. The top example is unsigned except for the Pat No 2080504. That number is Trifari's mechanism pat number and along with the bar construction says this is a Trifari.
Love Trifari!
Enjoy
Knockout designs on both the rhinestone & golden clipmates, these are beautiful and thank you so much for the great explanation about these dual brooches & their mechanism

Eileen, You're awesome! Thanks for the love and the comment. Love chatting about jewelry with you as you are so knowledgeable, witty, and enthusiastic.
Actually, I have another clipmate brooch that is the same size, but it is not in very good condition rhinestone wise, so I didn't post it. The spare in the drawer. Maybe I'll replace the rhinestones in that one some day. You can see how Trifari, while smaller than Coro sales wise, was really smart in how they made their jewelry and, IMO, it really contributed to their longevity. Not that Coro wasn't creative, successful and worthy of collecting. They were the largest manufacturer and really did some great jewelry, too. :)
Best,
Maureen
