The long sleeved version of the Oscar de la Renta Boy Scout shirt is hard to find for some reason. The short sleeved shirt was much more popular. Found this shirt at the Rose Bowl for $15 which isn't bad but then I added some patches and I still need to get the proper long pants to complete the uniform. I cheated a bit and used the some earlier pants but then so did actual scouts. Also the beret is not period correct although it was still used by many troops. Any part of a previous Boy Scout uniform can be used if the troop agrees but then the whole troop must wear that uniform or part of the uniform.
This uniform came with most of the patches including the Second Class Scout rank patch and Assistant Patrol Leader patch. I added the Arrow of Light patch on the left pocket. Could not find out if the patch goes on the pocket or underneath. Previous uniforms have it under the pocket and previous one have it on the pocket. Went with mostly on. The Arrow of Light patch is one of the patches from a Cub Scout uniform that can worn on a Boy Scout uniform. The yellow star pin above the left pocket is also worn on a cub scout uniform signifying one year in Cub Scouts.
On the right sleeve I added the Honor Unit 1984 patch. I believe the Honor unit patches began in the early 80s. Using my expertise I determined the path is from 1984.
On the right pocket is a Scout-O-Rama patch. Camp patches and other such can be worn on the right pocket. Scouts can trde these patches and they do not have to attend the camp.
A complete proper head to toe uniform post will be coming eventually.
I forgot to mention the shirt is designed to be worn with or without the neckerchief.
