Isn't this typical of collecting? I'd never had one in my hands and now I possibly have two! This one is more whimsical and includes background scenery. I think it may well be Czech as they did produce bowls with metal rims and painted scenery.
I haven't been able to find a replica of this, so any opinion/information you may have would be appreciated.
I've added a link below to a Czech painted bowl which may well have come from the same area as this one.
Diameter 19cm./7.5 inches Height 8.5 cm./3.5 inches

Another whimsical silhouette beauty, fabulous find! The snail and flute player have such adorable interaction, love this
Yeah, the very idea of the snail interacting with any other creature! In one image the pixie/gnome seems to playing to the snail much as a snake charmer would!!!
I just adore this Peggy...:-)
Boy, those little "bowls" are absolutely adorable! I would collect them too....
Thank you, Penny, me too. The scenes have an almost childlike charm......best I can do.
Glad you like them Eza :) I wasn't collecting them until one tuned up and then the second about a week later! Eyes peeled then......
