This appears to be some sort of signal either railroad or traffic? Not sure what it is, have done some searching but found nothing like it. Any help greatly appreciated!

What is the cone shaped part of it made of, and how is it finished? Does any part of the thing look like it might have once been "illuminated" somehow? Looks like most of it is made of cast iron/steel...??

Offhand it doesn't strike me as anything traffic/RxR related, maybe a maritime thing? Very curious item anyway, I hope someone else here recognizes it as something?!! :-) :-) :-)

Could this be part of a lighting rod. It could fit on top or on the side of a roof.

The whole thing has been media/glass beaded and is made of metal. The cone shaped part does seem to at one time held maybe glass. It could have been illuminated but I am not sure how. It seems like there was a rope or cable that went thru the semi-circle part and thru the mounting base like it rotated 90 deg somehow.

Could it be a vase of a marine waving flag?
