I found John Coltrane, Blue Train BLP 1577 and Kenny Burrell, Midnight Blue BLP4123 albums for 90 cent each. I don't know when they were made, I don't see a date. I am thinking I purchased them at a great price. Once again, any information would be greatly appreciated.

Excellent classic jazz albums, 'Trane is legendary, and every name on the Kenny Burrell LP were major talents in their own right.

Your Coltrane LP was released as a first issue in 1957. The label on your copy of the LP indicates that this pressing was produced in the period of 1959-1962. Values vary quite widely based on condition, but at under $1 you did quite well, even if the LP is in the middle range of the grading scale.

Your Kenny Burrell Midnight Blue LP was released as a first issue in 1963. The label on this lp was used between 1962-1966. This appears to be a first issue. It was also a reasonably good buy at under $1, but not quite as good as the Coltrane LP. Both are completely condition dependent for a collector, as far as desirability goes.

Both of these pressings are Mono, and not stereo, and to record collectors, especially early Jazz and early Rock collectors, mono pressings are generally more desirable than the early stereo mixes, which in many cases were simply remixed mono recordings that do not sound as good.

Nice finds. Early Blue Note LP's are not found in the wild much any longer.

Thank you Welzebub, I wanted to upload on a site and didn't know what to write. It's not good for others when you have the wrong information, so thank you for sharing with me the correct information.

Keramikos, thank you! The church is beautiful! I've got to tell my brother in law and niece about it. My brother in law is a fantastic jazz musician (Jason Moran) and my neice plays the guitar; this would be a great place to visit.
