A highly artistic contribution on glass blowing was made by the Loetz masters in shaping handles, being pulled out of the hot glass mass of a vase. Here the décor - as likewise 'Cytisus' - is running without interception over the body of the vase and the pulled out handles as well. The vases seem to extend into their surrounding space.

In 1902 Loetz designed a series of about 20 different shapes of vases showing pulled out handles, PN=II-2/613-633,662. As each PN was produced in a quite limited number, the whole production might be eastimated to about 200 pieces. Preferred décors were 'Candia Silberiris', 'Phenomene Gre 1/473' and 'Cytisus'. These vases were produced lateron without handles, and in 1903 with attached handles, too. In 1929 Loetz repeated some very few vases with pulled out handles having the 'Cytisus New' décor.

My 'Candia Silberiris' vase PN=II-2/613 stands H=12 cm, the 'Olympia' vase PN=II-2/262 H=15.5 D=17 cm, the 'Cytisus' vase PN=II-2/633 H=17 cm and finally the 'Cytisus New' vase of PN about III/4921-4924 (1929) has H=17 D=30 cm. The latter two vases I already have posted earlier on CW.
