I recently found out a box of old photos I bought in 1970 are actually 73 photographs taken by A. Fellig aka Weegee. According to Chris Bonanos (Weegee's biographer) almost all of the photos were taken in April and May 1937 and almost all have never been seen before.

I’ve heard of Weegee. Nice find but how did you identify the man in the picture?

Chris Bonanos (Weegee's Biographer) was able to connect about 80% of the photos to actual events - almost all from April and May of 1937.
