Sculpture made of bristlecone pine. I do not know who sculpted it. Maybe someone can. It was purchased at in estate sale 40 years ago.

It looks like a natural wood growth from some rocky ledge sculpted by Nature and wind.
What are dimensions? What does the bottom look like?
Dimensions are 26 inches in height and 18 in width. The bottom is wood as well
Another thought on this interesting wood object:
Certain limbs were carefully cut and a few of the cuts then developed a twig or 2 of new growth as will happen when you prune a tree or shrub.
It’s is beautifully twisted and convoluted and pruned.
This may have been someone’s carefully tended Bonsai tree. It can take years or decades of tending to achieve such a shape.
If such a Bonsai tree died, rather than just throwing it out, I think someone cut it off at it’s base and varnished it to preserve it.
