This is a lovely brooch AND it's the perfect time of year for them, being summer and so warm and that! My garden is FULL of these and they perch on flowers like this little brooch is doing!

Very nice Butterfly Brooch, and you can fix that little bit of Enamel loss with a little Kyratizing! If you don't have a Sharpie Fine Point Color Pack you should get one and match the color and try it! I've had great luck with it, but the right Nail polish works good too! :^D Thanks for showing! :^)

Scott I so appreciate the wonderful kind compliment, and so glad to bring a pretty piece like this to post for my friends to enjoy

Thanks Ken for the lovely words, I guess butterflies do get repetitive, it is only when they really "grab" me that I can't resist them, and because I love Panetta and the unusual sideways pose here this one appealed to me

Thanks MrsT, I know you are a butterfly lover & have some beauties, thank you so much for the great compliments & agree the pearly enamel colors here work wonderfully together

Thank you Eileen for the fabulous praise & so interesting that designers made thousands of butterflies, I guess the appeal was the many real & fantasy color combinations you could use, and that even though they are insects their wings can be so pretty. I have one last butterfly piece, a vintage sterling Monarch with gorgeous realistic enamel highlights by a famous designer, but don't worry I will not flood CW with too many butterflies lol!

Right Lauren, this time of year is really perfect for these delicate creatures, always amazed they only live for a day or two - what is a happier sight than seeing them fluttering close to you or best luck, landing on your shoulder! The sideways perch pose is so realistic, thank you for picking up on that & for your great talent of bringing nature to life, your views are so charming and true & am totally grateful for your lovely comments always

Bill if I were braver I would try some of the repair suggestions you gave, in my experience though any improvements I make attempts at look obvious and do more damage, believe me it's better off left alone, and in the light the spot looks negligible so I can live with it. Great idea about color matching with a sharpie or esp frosted blue nail polish, will have to give that a try, and certainly post the results. Super comment thanx

Absolutely true Roycroft, usually I post a couple glass animals each week but we're in the process of moving, so have misplaced or unfortunately broken (ouch!) some unposted animals, so just started reclaiming a couple online (very tough with vintage, I have reference books with loads of beauties you rarely see for sale or at inflated prices) and will be back with an extra animal this wk - also I'm trying to find some variety but the glass co's had their faves like horses & rabbits, so at least this wk I will have a new one for you! Thank you for noticing and the wonderful comment :)
