Hello everyone,
I just added these two sculptures of a Toad Riding A Hare. As unusual as these may seem, I have to assume these are depicting the Aesops Fable of The Hares and the Toads. Though they do remind me of a J.J. Grandville illustration. The hare is made of bronze, while the grass and toad are made of brass. The base is wood. The sculptures each measure 8" long and 5 1/4" tall. The wood bases each measure 7 1/4" long and 4" wide.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!!

Brilliant, just brilliant! Where did you find these lovely things? Ah yes, Aesops Fables. I was thinking "The Wind in the Willows" & Toad of Toad Hall. What a great home they'll have with you.
Thanks Gillian!! I stumbled across these online. Though not old, they are pretty cool collectibles.
Very unusual & beautiful pair Scott! Could they be used as bookends
Thanks Jenni!! Yes, I'm certain they could be used for bookends. I have them in an old bookcase and that's exactly what I'm using them for.
Thank you all so very much for the comments, the loves and for stopping in!!
