    LOUMANAL
    (436 items)

Over the past few weeks I came across some interesting Rindskopf, Welz, Kralik examples but my favourite is the clear base, signed Robert Held pulled Feather iridescent Cobalt Blue Vase. I'm really not sure about the mostly blue spatter Amethyst vase in the front of photo #2 or the chalice like vase on the left. I have seen this vase identified as both Welz and Kralik. Any ideas?

That's my pick too. Have a couple of his paperweights, and a piece of his pottery - well there're mine now. I think the pottery is older than the glass. Your vase is lovely.

Interesting we still cautious about some of these common shape vases. The chalice vase has a determining decor called muscle (webbed) by one of the more well known collectors in the USA, Joe Mattis, who also participated with images of his Czech glass pieces in the Volume II of the Truitts Bohemian Glass series.

      https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/109939-standardizing-czech-art-glass-patterns-v

He is also represented here on CW by a collector who showed us a publication he made in a CW post.

I assume he liked the muscle-webbed decor by Kralik. It was one of the most interesting and well fabricated of their lines. On the publication pages it is shown in image 2 in the blue zipper decor. This one I have attributed to Ruckl several years ago, now I am more inclined to believe they were not the only ones who fabricated this glass decor. So perhaps the chalice vase in the zipper decor might be Kralik as well in the link.

The light blue spatter glass vase has several decor versions, and minutes differences in shape, this one was attributed to Loetz, Ruckl, Kralik, and several have stayed unknowns.

As far as I am aware, the only Welz piece in this grouping is the candlestick. The marbled looking piece on the left end is one I believe to be Kralik production. I agree the blue pulled feather is Rindskopf production. I also consider the blue spatter piece to be Unknown production, as I have never seen anything truly supportable that would link it to any specific production house. As far as I am aware, none of these decors or shapes have ever been linked to Loetz.

Thanks Gillian! Over the eBay years I sold many examples of Robert Held glass creations. Travelling throughout Florida, I found many examples of his work in Antique stores and Consignment sores. Thanks for your comments!

Thank you Lisa for the comments and help....especially for the light blue vase. I suspected that the “ chalice” vase was a Kralik piece. Let me know if you want better photos of any these items....will gladly provide. Bob

Thank you welzebub for your comments.....yes, the candlestick is one of many Harlequin pieces I have including a large ribbed pitcher that I have previously uploaded at CW. None of the items on this page were signed. Bob

Gillian! Forgot to mention that the Robert Held vase is signed “skookum” made during his time in Alberta.

Thank you MALKEY, valentino97, vetraio50, vintagefran and artfoot for the loves. Bob

Funny how some things never change and you on the other finally understand, what the best way to handle these things is. No reaction or feeling challenged to prove anything I stated.

Bob, I really like that Kralik chalice in the webbed yellow decor. Sure send me more pictures. there is a Ruckl chalice that is very similar, but with only one fat ring between the top and the base. I think Mattis had it in the blue zigzag decor.
