Beautiful, and definately made by the same "source" who ever that may be! I know mine was purchased at an antique auction in Kentucky but that's all the info I have.
Made in the Philappines I believe. Check other posts Horse Tricycle .
Stuff
I agree with yougottahavestuff. These were supposed to be pendulum balance pony/horse. As I recall they were declared unsafe and no longer allowed to be sold.
I disagree as to the toy determination. The saddle is extremely small (6”) and not at all level. There is no place with which to hold on....no pegs...places for reins etc. it seems to me to be more like a display-like horse. Not for riding. It is 40” tall from floor to top of ears and 22” at widest point.
Purchased in antique shop in Oracle, Az.
By all means feel free to disagree. It may well be a display piece but it is nonetheless a pedestal balance one and more than likely produced off shore for sale here and discontinued for safety concerns.
These were most definately not made as any sort of children's toy. It would be impossible to put any size child on something that "floats" back and forth without any sort of connection to the base. This is made as a display piece, and very high quality. Mine was purchased at an antique Auction in Kentucky about 20 years ago. I would not let a child near it, for the fear of them knocking the horse off of the base and causing injury. No toy, and not meant for children in any way.
