This is made of a cold heavy stone. It is highly detailed but imperfect and is hand made.
I am confused about what the figure is and I did find something a little like it "Maya Myth Of Creation".
I don't know what it is but a lady told me I better find out because it looked special and I got it from a friend.
The only markings on it are in pencil on the back "5000" and I don't know what that is for either.

No it was me. I mentioned a word that is related the guy who once owned this item is liquidating his entire house including the contents.

I don't really know my stones but if I had a gun to my head I think I would scream out Limestone, for some reason. This came from two old men that really had a sad ending to their lives and I cleaned out their house in exchange for keeping what I want to keep. I just added the short story to the owl collection that I just posted.
it's Mayan [not yours!]! there's a priest with an offering standing on a slave. it does appear to be good quality limestone if it's not a fine sandstone. cool piece! well-executed!

I am sticking with white limestone and I don't know if that means that it's newer or older or if it means anything. Sandstone has an actual sandy feel to the surface as I recall but the limestone is common in Austin Texas and that is where I would say this stones category lies. Thank you again for the nice compliments.
