      I agree with bobby725 about it being an adze but more like a Chouna adze from the shape. The size appears rather small so might well have been used for cleaning mortise joints in post and beam timber construction of old barns and buildings. The one used for the bottom of the mortise would have almost a half circle bend to the blade and rounded cutting edge.

      Shoemaker's hammer. The same tool was sometimes used by bookbinders to round the spine of a book during binding.

      Irishcollector I didn't think there was enough angle to call it that but well could be. The two I have are probably more modern than this one. I don't collect them but when you buy out a bulk lot you never know what you will end up with.
