These three specimens are found in downtown Wilkes-Barré, PA.
The most interesting is the one proclaiming "STEAM". At one time, much of Wilkes-Barré's buildings were provided heat supplied by the Wilkes-Barré Steam Heat Company.
Hi, jscott and fortapache, I appreciate your loves of these items.
My father worked at the Edison Steam plant Kneeland street Boston as a fireman
late 40's til 60's. Power and steam is still used I think in Boston. Sad story!!! Years ago Edison had an electric explosion and the maintenance cover (manhole not PC!! anymore!!)
one cover lifted a car up of the ground!! Another one went up in the air and down an elevator shaft of a 6 story building and killed a person in the elevator!!!
Enjoy every DAY!!!
