This is another treasure I discovered yesterday, it's a 1950's Mickey Mouse Mouseketeer hat with plastic ears. It's in pretty nice shape and has obviously been stored away in a safe dry spot!

I live about an hour from Disney in Orlando and we see these quite frequently on tourists. All kinds of companies make them for the tourist trade. There is an original in the National Museum of Natural History. When these first came out in 55 they were one of the most expensive Disney items at almost $17. This one looks like the adult version as the kids and infant sizes had an elastic chin strap to keep them from falling off. Disney stuff always seems to be popular. I have a bunch of it packed away somewhere. My favorite item is an old bubble gum vending machine with Mickey on it that dispenses M&M's rather than gum. Most items, like this one don't bear the actual Disney logo signature.
