This is a photo of our relative who died in Germany during the occupation of
that country in late 1945. He died of illness. He had fought late in the war also.
I never met him, of course, because he died before I was born.
His pillow is also shown when he was being trained as a US soldier. Probably 1940-1944.
From Fort Meade in Maryland. One of the little cartoons on the pillow slip shows a private in
the guard house seeing outside another buck private going out with a good looking lady!
Why can't this be him!
