My research leads me to believe this is a 20’s or 30’s aluminum derby trumpet mute hat which is fully felt lined. Would love to see a video of this being used with a horn.

But dont believe yours is a Trumpet Mute Hat...your hat is ovel shape ..unlike the one I posted which is round like the end of the horn ,.. which a good fit and makes sences.... yours being ovel just dont jive daddy O .....lol
