Estate find Old I believe Underwood Portable Typewriter. I believe the year of Mfg. was around 1926>>. I'm not for sure. Tried using the Serial number and nothing matching, Serial number 4B42664. Any help with I.D. Of year or Guidance is Greatly Appreciated.

What a beauty! The sticker used to read "International Typewriters Exchange" from Chicago, Illinois. The earliest one I see is from 1926 but this one is most likely older than that! They are so very cool and so very heavy too, right?!

Wait a minute, I believe you can find it by using that number within U.S. patents. All the dates are right there on the back. It may take you some time, but I'm sure you could find it there. The #5 seems to be the one that outlasted them most but I think this one is very cool. Especially with the ribbon in it still working.

Many websites say the serial numbers beginning with 4 date from 1912-1926, so you have a real classic there. Keep searching for dating Underwood typewriters online, you will find it
