Just picked this up. I recieved this from a friend of the family for Christmas around '67 when I was about 12. He had been a Ham operator and knew I was interested in electronics. This is a Knight Kit 100 in 1 Electronic Lab Kit from Allied Radio. Allied was a mail order elecronics distributor like Heathkit, Lafayette Radio etc. These were the days before electronic stores. You had to completely assemble the kit out of the hundreds of parts. When completed you could make 100 different projects, radio, low power transmitter etc. I learned about components, circuits, the resistor color code etc. from this. I later became an electronic tech in the 80's, this kit was a major influence in my profession. It was a lot of fun and you actually could learn something.

Thanks Jscott. It was a great teaching aid and got me interested in electronics. It was a total surprise to get it. It was pretty neat to mess with. It impressed one of my friends enough that he ordered one.
I didn't know the story of Hammond. It kept me awake wondering a lot.
