Does anyone recognize the seeds used for this medallion. This was handed down to my Grandmother from many Generations, I know it is extremely old. But I'm not really sure how old. The metal closures are are all individually handmade and cut. If you look close you can see that some close tighter than others. One of them was not closed tight enough and subsequently a piece of wool yarn has been used to hold the 3 seed points together. I'll post a few more pics of the seeds and the yarn closure. I have no family left, so I am not able to ask any relitives.
These seeds I've also seen on very old coins so this rosary must be of respectable age. Is there any hallmark and what kind of material the bead are? They look like ivory?
Coix lacryma-jobi, or Job's Tears. They're commonly found in rosaries.
