Hello everyone!!
In continuation of my vintage bookend collection. Here is a set of 1924 bookends by Ronson and cataloged as #7072. They're titled "Cherub and Butterfly". They're really quite detailed and beautifully painted. I really like the little frog climbing onto the base of each. Though these have some paint loss, they're still a nice set. They each measure 6 1/4" tall.
These are made of gray metal, or spelter if you will. These were produced in monochrome (gold colored) and polychrome painted. The polychrome painted version, as you see here, are valued at nearly twice as much as the monochrome version. They're also more rare to find than the monochrome versions. Hope you enjoy seeing these as much as I do.
Many thanks to you all for taking time to stop by for a look!!
Scott
These are very detailed and quite lovely!
Thank you Mrstyndall!!!
Thank you Ken!! Though some of the gold gilding has worn off over their nearly 100 years of life, they still retain most of their polychrome paint.
