I bought this vase to find out who made it. Unfortunately, even a detailed inspection did not help me with the identification. The vase was sold as Loetz style. The same vase was offered by Christie's 12th December 1992. It was presented here as Loetz - I don't know if it was sold?
The vase has dimensions: 25.7 x 18.5 x 11.2 cm and is relatively heavy. I think it was made around 1900 - 1907.
I will be very pleased for any information that will help in identifying this vase.

Everything about this piece (except the shape) says Rindskopf to me.

I also think it will probably be Rindskopf, but I do not exclude Pallme Koenig.
I think we only know a small part of the production of both these glassworks.

I think it is trying to resemble a Rindskopf but the deep red ground and threading on the bottom makes me think it could be newer. The shape as well as your mention that it is a bit heavy also leads me in this direction.

There seems to be no wear on the bottom....?

The beautiful red reminds me of your Kralik "Tooled and Threaded" vases.

I found out that Christie's (offered this vase for $ 25,000-35,000) withdrew this item from the auction.

I'm probably well wide of the mark, but the mouth and neck have a Poschinger-esque look to them.

For what it is worth, the colors, and level of execution strike me as newer production, and not older. The ground color is off to me, although I know that red can be very difficult to photograph accurately. The papillon decor in the upper region is not as well executed as I would expect to see, and the colors and muddled execution of the pulls in the lower region of the piece are all indicating, at least to me, that the piece is much newer production, rather than older. Still a very pretty piece of glass.

Thank you for all comments and suggestions for identifying this vase. So far the only conclusion is - it's not Loetz. I think the vase is the beginning of the 20th century, but most tend to produce later. I think that only Igor Müller of current (since 1980) Czech production came into consideration in my opinion, but he clearly refused it today. Then one of the Bavarian glass works comes into consideration and Jack Ink was mentioned. I think it can be made by the Rindskopf glassworks (but also by the Pallme Koenig glassworks). It would want the same decor in a different shape.

When I first saw this vase in internet, I thought on modern Czech production imitating Gre 356, 358 at the bottom part, though quite unsuccessfully. From weight and shape I still belief it is modern Czech, but - as you say - quite early dated 1992, with polished pontil.

The combed glass in the lower part of the vase is, in my opinion, the most similar to the PG 4471 Loetz PG (it is not a powdered iris decor, but mainly drawn opaque glass). Maybe it should be an imitation or a variation of PG 4471. ???
(I hope the goggle translator translated well from Czech?)

Otherwise I agree, the pattern of combed decor is an imitation of PG 356, 358.

Could also try Medina ... though think they are usually signed ...

I also tried Mdina and Mtarfa - I couldn't find anything like it. If it's not old, maybe some glass studio in the USA. Both vases with this decor, which I know were sold in the USA. ??

I was going to post my own reply to this, but having read Craigs's comment on this thread I'm going with - I coudn't agree more with Craig - took the words right outa my mouth.
