Former mom and pop grocery store in Edwardsville, PA still retains the presence of one of the items which they had carried.

Such stores have most disappeared across the USA, but there are still a number thriving in ethnic neighborhoods.

I remember two little stores like that in my grandmother’s neighborhood. The buildings are still there but were boarded up years ago....they were perfect for my needs back then....candy for 1 cent a piece and a popsicle for a dime!! If my sister and I only had one dime between us, we would get a “2-stick” popsicle and break it in half.

This is GREAT!! I miss the old mom and pop stores. My Aunt and Uncle have owned and operated a little country store, in Central Kentucky, for decades. They sell everything from groceries to hardware and even have a deli. It has always done quite well. However, they're both aging and have the store up for sale. Unfortunately, since they've had no potential buyers yet, the store will eventually close for good within the next few years.
