I have a Singer Klaffe 206 and would like to know the year it was made. The model/serial number appears to be C3518279. This is a German Model produced in a factory in Prussia and the records for the “C” series were apparently destroyed during WWII so I can’t seem to find any info about it. As I understand it, these machines were shipped to the USA after the end of the war.

It has extra plates and attachments in the cabinet and may have been motorized after it was built, at a later time, not sure.

Any info anyone might be able to give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey keramikos, thanks x 1 mil for all the info. Much appreciated. I’m not sure about toolfool but it looks like the serial number list on there was taken from this German website:

      http://naehmaschinenwerk.de/singer_serialnumber/seite03_singer_1letter.htm

Don’t know how reliable it is but would seem to support the year of manufacture to be 1930, which was a real turning point in German (and the worlds) history.

If only that machine could talk.

      Thanks again so much.
