Cephalonia, as defined by Loetz, will have a rustic slag-like layer that bursts (similar to burst foil) when the vessel is blown into its final form, creating the appearance of ancient glass. There is a lookalike decor out there that has the spots painted on - true Cephalonia has the inclusions actually embedded in the glass. Uranium glass ground, UV reactive, "patina" verdigris decor, with added handles that twist around the neck. Eight rim folds - a really complex, interesting example on a rare form. Just over 8" tall. Identical form, décor, and DEK shown in Das Böhmische Glas 1700-1950, Band IV (Jugendstil in Böhmen), p. 62.

Hi Warren - this is a fantastic example.
SO the look-a-like Cephalonia is not Loetz?

Phil - that post is coming up - it's either another maker, re Kralik, etc, or it's Loetz, but a different decor with the same patina decoration, i.e. "Olympia m. Patina" - stand by

This is such an underappreciated decor! Lovely example.
