As far as I can tell, this is an original oil painting by James Henderson. I found one like it on worthpoint but only a few differences and called Beautiful Bluebonnet Path. Would this one still be calles the same...do oil artists repeat their work? How can I tell?

Are you sure this painting is painted by James Henderson who passed away in 1951?
    2. IrishPrincess IrishPrincess, 5 years ago
Well it is his signature on bottom and it has yellowing on back of canvas.

You are absolutely right about it being the same scene painted by "J. Henderson" "Beautiful Bluebonnet Path" but it is not James Hendersons signature that passed away in 1951.

I've seen his signature exactly like on this painting, and it is an actual painting. And I can tell it was painted quite a while ago because of the yellowing on the back of the canvas. I still feel stumped as to why (if it's fake) anyone would even go to that extent to fake it? lol

Did you ever find out any more info on this J. Henderson painting. I have a similar landscape posted in my profile.
